| ... I might get a prize if you click this link. I just read it in a bulletin at MangaBullet and it only goes to my profile there.
It doesn't say what the prize is though. I'm hoping for a PSP. <. | comments: 3 comments or Leave a comment |

Yes, that's another 11 chapters down. This time it's 'All The Way Here' and 'Poisoned Rationality' that really got hammered. This is on top of the 11 from last time. I wonder why 11 each time... someone's lucky number? Anyway, despite this being my 22nd policy violation and being on my last warning, I appear to still be a member of DeviantART. These aren't new submissions, they are all extant (well, were extant) chapters that I refused to remove. That would be agreeing that they are pornography and accepting that there's no literary worth.
I was amused by that until I spotted that one of the chapters shot down was 'Red'. What kind of sick mind considers that chapter to be pornography?
Oh well. I've amassed another 150-odd messages in there, so there's another 150-odd responses of 'gone to MangaBullet' to send out. | comments: 10 comments or Leave a comment |
| It's been a while since I updated here with news from the increasingly ridiculous situation at DeviantART. Mainly because just about everyone here has emigrated to MangaBullet and so is getting it for themselves.
The latest though involves MangaBullet. The problem initially reared its head when NaomieKeiko got banned from DA for linking to MangaBullet repeatedly from her journals. Her journal entry at MangaBullet broke the news. I was flabbergasted, particularly since I've been throwing the link to MB around like confetti on there and I hadn't been so much as reprimanded. Let's put it this way. In the past month, I've had over 6000 hits on my DA front page. I've also received 300-400 messages. I've been slowly responding to all of them with a variation on a theme of 'I've gone to MangaBullet and here's the link'. My front page journal entry contains the same link. I've just posted my last ever story there and the author's note also contains the link. But Naomie is off and I'm not. 'kay.
Then I spotted something on my front page, in the comment boxes there: ( Some screenshots under here )
I, of course, queried this, as I couldn't see how posting a link to MangaBullet broke any rules. I've just received a note back from our friendly DA mod:
Your MangaBullet account features pieces that were removed from your gallery here as policy violations. Linking to material such as this is not prohibited. I do not suggest you link to it again. You may give them your username there, but not a direct link.
So there we have the policy clarified. -.-
The great irony is that there weren't. Not until yesterday, when I uploaded For The Riffti. The links were banned as policy violations before I uploaded anything but My Own Way. That story was never touched on DA.
I've tried to be so professional about DeviantART. I've remained calm and haven't lowered myself into childish retorts. I think I've earned this: DEVIANTART, CER I GRAFI, TWLL TIN!! RYDYN I MALU CACHU!! Diolch yn fawr ichi.

| I've just finished reading a book about Britain in 1348. It talked about those who kept journals. The early entries spoke in great detail about who was dead, the circumstances surrounding their deaths, the prayers, the implications etc. By the finish, the journals petered off to just names. Whether that was because there was nothing left to say or because the writers of those journals were just too shell-shocked to elaborate is up for interpretation. The deaths were no less tragic by the end of 1348 than they were at the beginning.
For those living it, it really must (and did) seem like the End of Times. The great apocalypse descending upon the great and the good (and the humble and the bad) with random precision. By the end of 1349, so many in Britain were dead that it changed our countryside and our people forever. Even now, in 2008, we are feeling the aftershock, though I guess only the historians can see it. Whole villages were wiped out and it was effectively the end of feudalism. Three years later, the middle classes emerged and they are definitely still with us now.
It is complete and utter hyperbole to compare the Black Death with what's happening to the fandom in Deviant ART right now. Downright disrespectful to the third to a half of the population of Europe who died, and the rest who had to survive piles of corpses so high that no-one could bury them. The link is only in my head, as I write this journal entry and think of those who wrote their journals then. Anda-chan's suspension was shocking. It was written in such detail. I guess the shock wanes a bit by the time I'm preparing to write now: Flock of Doves has received a two week suspension for prohibited content (pornography) and therefore is the latest to be added to the list of those gone from DA. But, in truth, is is no less shocking than the first.

| First of all, a huge shout out to one of the greatest of our Mellos, the inimitable Anda-chan, aka essenseofmalice on LJ. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!
As for the state of the world, Manga Bullet continues to wow and delight us. Spoiled-kitten has posted 'Belong' and 'Regrets', with the statement that she will leave them up for two days. If she isn't banned in that time, then she will move in properly. Hurrahness! Because loads of people are looking, but no-one has tried to remove them yet. In my gallery, 'The Blooding' is similarly unmolested, therefore I'm starting to upload 'My Own Way'. Meanwhile, Stuffed-fox and Melissa have drawn several variations on the theme of Matt being sexually abused with a laptop computer (this is a true story), which also appear to be going down well. Not least with Matt.
In Sheezy Art, the parody of Spoiled-Kitten's artwork (it was a parody, sorry, I saw it when I was very tired, so bigged it up as support in a previous journal. It wasn't. -.-) has been removed. Otherwise, everyone has left now and so I'm ignoring the place from now on.
Deviant Art.... *smirk* How much love can we give Svadilfari-sm right now? The woman is a genius. She's copying classic art and applying it to our boys.

Presumably phase two will involve the arrows, unless she's going for the bullet-holes. He's even got a collar on, bless him. Go Svadilfari! Go Svadilfari! | comments: 11 comments or Leave a comment |
| I've just glanced through my comments from the last journal entry and sat there with my jaw dropped. Where did I mention I'd had a book published?
Ah... my post to Spencer. -.-
Ok! I'm rumbled. However, some clarification is clearly required. 'It Matters' was the first fanfiction I had ever written. This is a true story. It's not the first fiction that I've written, but that's all handwritten on notepads lying around the landslide disaster area that is my room. I have never written a sex scene before the moment in 'It Matters' when Matt comes home from the club.
So what the frig have I got published? It's a history text book. It's dry, academic and aimed at postgraduate level students. Mello and Matt aren't in it. :p
Hope that answers everyone's questions. 8D | comments: 18 comments or Leave a comment |
| I think we have a winner. Melissa went on a hunt and found mrs-jeevas.mangabullet.com/ She saw Light's arse on the front page, so joined. I went for a scut through and saw Near naked. Though scarred for life, I did judge that if Near can take his clothes off, so can Mello and Matt. In fact, they should. I've looked at the policy statement and we have:
What types of content are permitted?
MangaBullet allows artists to freely express themselves, with few restrictions placed on what is unacceptable. However, because a portion of our userbase is below the legal age defined by their country of residence, you must make sure any mature content is clearly marked as such, using the mature content option of the submission process.
Items that qualify as mature content include the following: * Erotic or suggestive imagery * Exposure of uncensored breasts or genitalia * Excessive violence or gore
Please be considerate; many users browse from public places, such as schools or work. Any content that falls into an above category or grey area without being marked may be deleted.
I've continued into what isn't allowed and basically it's photos/videos of sex (artwork is allowed as is nude photos), plus anything involving kids.
Hurrah and happiness. I've tested the waters by uploading 'The Blooding', which is the most explicit one-shot in my collection. It has a mature tag on it and one person so far telling me it's good. There are a few bugs with the coding, but nothing insurmountable (usually a page refresh will do it). I like it.

| Before I start, I'd like to place an advert please.
ARE YOU CATHOLIC? HAVE YOU GOT THE INTELLIGENCE OF MELLO? CAN YOU DEFEND YOUR RELIGION AGAINST NON-FAITH BASED OBSERVATIONS WITHOUT WANTING TO BREAK THE 5TH COMMANDMENT? COULD YOU BE THE VOICE OF MELLO IN A NEW STORY? (that I'm in no way already on chapter 5 of writing) MRS Jeevas needs you!
(Will accept slightly less intelligent than Mello, considering that he's not only a genius but in the top level of Wammy's House alumni and there's not many of them around; respond with a comment and I'll contact you via pm)
Today's update is more about SheezyArt than DeviantArt. Spoiled-kitten got banned within a day and I'm not 100% that I haven't been banned too. Plus there's at least Mad-Hatters-Hare and Maiawhite walked out in protest. You never get this with Near fans. I kind of have this mental image of the ghosts of Mello and Matt cheering us on... yeah, maybe that's just me.

Love her! Just love her!
As for the state of things, a fair few of us have made accounts on SheezyArt. I've already written to a moderator for clarification about what constitutes 'artistic merit' (depictions of sexual arts without artistic merit will be deleted). The moderator has responded but only to ask me to re-direct the question to the site's manager. I have done so. I haven't spoken to Spoiled-kitten about this, but I have noticed that she appears to be directly testing the waters. Her hardcore Matt-tied-up-and-beaten art isn't there, but she's put in one of everything else. :p
I don't know. I was excited about SheezyArt before, and they do seem to respond quickly to queries, plus I like the layout. However, their policies do seem to mirror the basic policy of DA and their news forum shows ambiguity about what has, or will, constitute pornography. Alarm bells are ringing. We'll see.
